The Department of Strategic Partnership Office (DSP) underscores a part of the functions at the Assistant Vice Chancellor’s Global Office. DSP is committed to enhance the internationalization of the University by establishing a strategic international network and partnership for the University.

Noting that the international network of UiTM covers most regions of the world to support and leverage opportunities for global partnerships, DSP engages State Campuses, Faculties, Centres of Excellence (CoEs), departments, and other internal units of the University in establishing international partnerships, the design and implementation of international activity that meets aims set out in the University’s Strategic Plan. The Office is anchored in the Assistant Vice-Chancellor’s Global and with oversight from the Director.

POWER & DUTIES

As endorsed by the Executive Council of UiTM (effective on 15/06/2020), the DSP shall have the following powers and duties:

To work closely with the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Global) of UiTM in devising the strategic direction of global agenda so as to enhance the University’s reputation in the world;
To propel and foster the global partnership through reciprocal ways (inbound as well as outbound activities) in promoting UiTM as a truly global University;
To nurture the development, promotion and maintenance of the networks between different Units of UiTM and the strategic partners across regions.

MAJOR FUNCTIONAL AREAS

The five core operation areas of DSP are:

International Relations & Negotiation

Managing UiTM’s high profile participation actively in board meetings, annual conferences, and higher education summit and forums organized by these international university alliances.

Strategic Direction

The design of initiatives and policy to enhance UiTM’s international goals.

Monitoring

Classifying, analysing and enlightening international opportunities and risks for the University.

Coordination

Strategising engagement affairs between UiTM and external academic or education-related entities, organising country and regional networks, and acting as focal contact unit for any external parties that are interested in collaborating or developing partnership with UiTM.

 
 
5

Strategic Networking

Collecting, creating, storing, and informing data on international activity.
